Join us at Yirranma Place for a FREE lunchtime concert showcasing the remarkable sounds of the Grand Heritage organ, a treasured heritage feature of the building.

The adjacent Two Good Cafe will be open before and after the recital. Two Good Co is a social enterprise working to support women at risk of domestic violence and homelessness. The menu currently features a partnership with Christine Mansfield as Chef of the Month. Try out her Red Rice, Avocado, Chilli & Charred Corn Salad, Spicy Turmeric Chicken Banh Mi or Crisp Choc Chip & Macadamia Cookies.

Performer

Robert Fox

Our resident organist, Robert Fox, was first associated with this instrument when he used it for his HSC Music performance exam. The church retained him as one of its organists more or less continuously until its closure in 2010. Robert was Director of Performing Arts at Shore School for 25 years and is still the School Organist. He is vice president and immediate past president of the Organ Music Society of Sydney. He has given recitals in Sydney’s major venues and has played some of the world’s most famous instruments, including those in Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral in London, and King’s College in Cambridge.

Venue

Yirranma Place is a philanthropic precinct with social purpose at its heart.

“Yirranma” is translated from Gadigal to “many-create”. This indicates the purpose of the precinct - a place where people come together to create and connect in the Darlinghurst neighbourhood. Yirranma Place is a space where for-purpose organisations, social enterprises, and people working for social change can collaborate; and for the local community to enjoy, from picking up a coffee to browsing displays, or attending an event.
